Price per mg: why vial size is misleading and how to compare correctly

31.99 euros sounds cheaper than 65 euros, until you do the math. Here is how to find the real price per milligram for BPC-157 and other peptides, with real numbers from our price database.

Why vial size distorts a price comparison

Two shops sell BPC-157. One lists it at 31.99 euros, the other at 65.00 euros. At first glance, the first shop looks cheaper. Look closer and the picture flips: the 31.99 euros buy a 5 mg vial, the 65.00 euros buy a 10 mg vial. Per milligram, the pricier vial actually costs less.

That is the trap waiting in every peptide comparison. Vendors size their vials differently, some sell 5 mg, others 10 mg, others 20 or 40 mg of the same compound. Without converting, you end up comparing apples to oranges.

The question that matters is never "what does the vial cost," it is "what does one milligram of this compound cost at this vendor." Only that number makes two listings comparable, regardless of whether a shop sells small or large containers.

How to calculate the price per milligram

The formula is simple: price divided by the milligram amount in the vial. A 34.95 euro vial with 10 mg of active compound costs 3.50 euros per milligram. A 60 dollar vial with 5 mg costs 12.00 dollars per milligram, even though the total price looks lower than some larger vials.

That single number, price per mg, is the only figure you can compare directly across vendors. The total price of a vial tells you little on its own, unless you read it together with the mg amount.

One more example to check the method: a 29.90 euro vial with 10 mg comes out to 2.99 euros per milligram, 29.90 divided by 10. The same calculation works for any vial size and any currency, as long as you take the price and the mg amount from the same product page.

BPC-157 by the numbers: same peptide, very different prices per mg

Here is what that looks like for BPC-157, as of 2026-09-15 in our price database.

The table lists eight real entries from our price database, one peptide, eight vendors, two vial sizes and two currencies side by side.

The gap between the highest and the lowest value in the table is more than a factor of 4. Watch for this: the two lowest prices per mg both come from 10 mg vials, the two highest from 5 mg vials. Protide Health is also worth a second look on its own: 10 mg costs 6.50 dollars per mg there, 40 mg only 4.88 dollars per mg, vial size alone explains the gap. The list price is not the final price

The price per mg on a product page is the list price. What you actually pay depends on discount codes and promotions that change the total afterward. Peptidwerk, for example, gives its partners the code peptidecompass10 at checkout, without the exact discount percentage being published anywhere.

Time-limited promotions work the same way: a shop can lower its price per mg for a few days and raise it again afterward. A price you note down is always a snapshot, never a fixed promise for your next order.

So calculate in two steps: first the price per mg from the list price, then the real price per mg after any code or promotion applied in the cart. Only the second number counts once you actually order.

Shipping costs and minimum order values shift the price per mg

A low price per mg does not help much once shipping gets added on top. Smart Peptides, for instance, ships free within Germany from an order value of 100 euros, below that a shipping fee applies and pushes the effective price per mg up. Other shops tier the free-shipping threshold by country, EU orders often sit above the domestic value.

Some shops also set a genuine minimum order value, below which a purchase is not possible at all, that is a different thing from a plain free-shipping threshold.

USD prices need translating before you compare them

Some vendors in our database price in US dollars, not euros. American Peptides, Protide Health and Chameleon Peptides, for example, consistently list in dollars. A price per mg of 6.50 dollars is not automatically more or less expensive than 6.50 euros, the exchange rate on the day decides that.

The euro-dollar exchange rate moves by a small percentage every day, which can tip the balance between two prices per mg that sit close together.

More importantly: all three shops named above ship exclusively within the US according to their own terms of service, ordering from Germany is simply not possible there. Before you add a dollar price to your comparison, check first whether the shop ships to Germany at all. If a non-EU shop does ship to your country, import VAT and, depending on the value, customs handling fees generally get added to the plain product price at delivery, that belongs in the comparison too.

Blends and combo products do not fit into a price-per-mg number

Some vendors do not sell a single compound but a combo product with several active ingredients in one vial. Our price database follows one rule: a product needs a clear match to exactly one of our listed compounds, otherwise we leave it out. Combo products without a clean 1:1 match are deliberately excluded from the table, rather than assigning their price to any single compound.

A combo product often looks cheaper per milligram of total content at first glance, because several compounds get added together. For a comparison against a single compound like BPC-157, that number is still not usable.

For your own comparison, that means a blend's price per mg tells you nothing against a single peptide, the composition is too different. If you want to make sense of a combo product, count the individual compounds in the product description and compare each one on its own.

Some prices are archived values, not live prices

A price in our database is only as current as the collection date we record with every entry. In one case, Helus Lab, the shop page now sits entirely behind a login, a live check was no longer possible as of our cutoff date. The 29.99 euro price for 10 mg of BPC-157 therefore comes from an archived snapshot of the page, not a current check.

For every other vendor in the table, the price comes from a live check on 2026-09-15, not an archived snapshot.

We flag values like this so you know what you are relying on. An archived price may have changed since, budget in your own check with these vendors before you buy.

Price per mg is only one of five criteria

As important as price per mg is for your comparison, it makes up only 20 percent of our overall score. Lab and legal framework carry more weight at 25 percent each, shipping and range at 15 percent each. The lowest price per mg does not help much if the CoA is missing or the shop has no legal notice.

A vendor with a mid-range price but a clean lab and legal score often beats the pure price leader once you add it all up.

No. Price per mg makes up only 20 percent of our score, lab and legal framework together count for 50 percent. A low price paired with a missing CoA or an unclear legal notice is not a good sign.
